.25 Creedmoor Optimized Case Design (OCD) for Precision Rifle Reloading
Optimized Case Design (OCD) represents an advanced approach to rifle cartridge case design, focusing on the characteristics that can contribute to consistent, repeatable reloading performance. OCD case design addresses four important areas of cartridge brass manufacturing:
- Consistent Internal Case Capacity – Precision tooling is designed to produce highly consistent internal case volume, helping reduce variations between cases during rifle cartridge reloading.
- Consistent Neck Tension – Carefully controlled case-neck dimensions are designed to provide uniform bullet grip and consistent neck tension for repeatable bullet seating.
- Controlled Case Hardness – Case hardness is engineered throughout the brass, with a harder case body and softer neck and shoulder areas. This design helps balance durability with the forming and resizing requirements of precision rifle reloading.
- Clean, Consistent Flash Holes – Precisely formed, clean and symmetrical flash holes help provide uniform ignition characteristics from case to case.
Together, these features make OCD-designed rifle brass a strong choice for reloaders looking for consistent cartridge cases, precision reloading performance, and repeatable results.
